feed small pieces after the lights have shut down and it has shrunk to its lights out size. make sure to turn the pumps off and leave the pumps off for an hour to give it a chance to grab on.

My Euphillia's don't seem to eat meaty foods. I have tried Mysis, Krill, Silverside, Arctipods, cyclopese, and anythign else size approperate I can find and they don't seem to latch on to anything. Ever.

^+1 to just placing the food in the area the mouth is in...my frogspawns tentacles actually draw the food in to the mouth.

thurge:
you have to make sure the lights are out, they won't grab onto the food until the lights are out. you also have to make sure that the flow isn't too strong, i turn all my pumps off before feeding euphyllia. i usually have to actually hand feed these corals and sometimes hold food near the coral or push it into the coral's tentacles before it will grab on. they then very slowly grab the food and pull it into their mouth. |

I will try that this weekend. I usually don't turn the pujmps off when I feed the corals but I do try and do it several hours after the lights have gone out for the night.

This is all interesting. I have a frag of frogspawn and it have not grown, at all in about a year. I do not target feed and have never seen tentacles out at night. I have also never seen a mouth...
What am I missing? Not meaning to hijack the thread here. Thanks Brock |

MY froggie tends to shrink at night, so lights on is the only way I can get him to feed. Also, he never grabs the food, so pumps need to be off, and then the weight of the food causes it to open its mouth and eat.

How do you guys deal with cleaner shrimp ? Mine are some nasty thieves. It takes me so much time to feed my lps and softies that i have dwindled down to almost no feeding now at all.
I have tried giving a piece of krill to each shrimp before i feed the corals,..but they (shrimp) eat too fast and go back and steal from the corals. Theyll pretty much pry open the mouth of say my bubble or cynarina and just pull the krill out of it,..even when the coral has fully ingested the food |
