Should I feed my Brain

I've had an open brain in the bottom of my 7 gallon nano for about 4 years. Since it's only a coral tank I never feed the tank. Although the brain still looks healthy, I've notice in the past few months that the flesh looks a little bit more translucent. My water params are good, although alkalinity falls a little bit below optimal sometimes (today6.8 dKH).

Should I be feeding this guy occasionally, or should I not worry? The only other stony in the tank, BTW, is a scroll I've also had a few years, and that looks perfect. Thanks.

I feed mine bits of squid directly, or it always finds something it likes when I feed Rod's Food.

Yes you should feed an open brain every week to two weeks. It will take brine, mysis, planton, any small meaty foods. The light color of the coral is bleaching. It may be caused by lack of food or a change in light (old bulbs, new bulbs, a change in lights).

Man, I haven't fed it for literally years! Should I place the food directly in the center (green) part of the animal. The tentacles protrude where the green and red flesh meet.

Give it to the 'tentacles', they'll grab it.

Good. The tentacles are usually out when I get to work, before the lights come on. Is thawed, frozen food alright?
