General questions

Question 1-
I need more flow in my 30 gallon, so I was thinking of the wavemaker package on liveaquaria.com with the 3 MJ 1200 on a wavemaker strip. Would that be too much flow for a 30 gallon with softies and LPS? Or should I bump it down to the MJ 900's or something.

Question 2-
I have had a phosphate problem and hair algea has been a major problem. Two weeks ago my father and I took out all the live rock and scrubbed them down and did a 50% water change. That took the hair algea away for about a week, then it came back. I have been periodically taking the top layer of rock our to scrub the hair algea off of it. As for water changes, I have been doing 20% water changes with IO on Monday, Wendsday, and Saturday. My phosphates are now down to ~3.5. The questions is, should I invest in a cleanup crew from www.saltwaterfish.com, I was looking at the In The Mix Package. I know that it wont lower the phosphates but it will help with the little bit of hair algea that is growing on the rocks while it can still be managed by marine life, I am afraid that I will have to do another total live rock scrubdown in the next month. My dad doesnt agree with me that I should get inverts to help becuase...well I dont really know why but I want to hear what all yall would consider doing.

Thanks.
If you can help that would be most appreciated!

Cheers

You're phosphates are very high. You need to figure out why, and fix it, it is usually from the water, and from overfeeding. You should always have a good cleanup crew, but without the nutrients you wont have any algae problems.

Okay, so do you suggest investing in the cleanup crew?

Anyone have any input on the first quesiton?

Thanks very much Mike O'Brien for the help!

The MJ 1200's are a little to much IMO for a 30 gal with softies. The 900's are a better choice.

Okay, thanks a ton Saltydoggie, I agree that 1200's would be too strong, but 3 900's would be perfect (on a wavemaker of course)
