OK, this may sound crazy, but touch the tentacles with like the inner part of your wrist.

Does it burn like hell? I saw one once and it was called a fire anemone and the owner told me he has to be careful around it.. It was a branched tentacled type of anemone.

Otherwise, I'll second the "WOW!" and have no clue

Is that its mouth I see in the center between the tenacles? It looks like it could have a nice big "mouth" area. Does it? I would definatley think some type of weird anemone. Very cool to say the least! The "bulbs" are very odd and weirdly shaped. They look almost like a berry growing on a branch. Did you get via hitch hicker?

yes, Hitchiker,
I touched it with my inner wrist, Really really sticky like a burr, or velcro, but no burn.
it has a flat area in the middle, small mouth, the whole thing is almost quarter sized. It moves around like an anemone, someone on my local fish forum called it a

Heterodactyla_ or Thalassianthus aster.

I would like to know for sure, It is an aggressive eater.

What kind of base does that thing have...is it in a tube of some kind? From the fact that you feel "something" when you touch it without pain, I'd suspect some kind of anemone as opposed to coral, but man, that's something unusual.
