New Juwel 250 Setup

Beginnerish
6 months ago I bought a 37 gallon reef tank!
I have managed to keep everything alive so far
Behold a miracle
But now i want to move them to my new tank a Juwel Rio 250
Seens as how I inherited everything in the smaller tank
I'm a bit lost as to what I'll need for the new tank
Which was housing tropical fish originally and has a juwel filter but this is no good now right?
So seens as I'm blonde I need help please I need to know what I need ie; what type power heads the size, how much live rock and sand, What size protein skimmer etc And what type of lights, can I use t5's like whats in the smaller tank The new tank isnt drilled and i'd prefer to use a protein skimmer like the one i have now, (one of those clear ones that sit in the water) cos at least i know what i'm doing with one of those. Any help would be greatly appreciated.COS I'M TOTALLY LOST
Thanks lulu

You're not a beginner, but that thread is probably a good place to start.

For lighting, we need to know what kind of animals you intend to keep.

I want to keep soft corals and fish in my reef tank
But this light thing has got me beat
I just dont get it at all
My old tank has two 11k aquablue plus tubes in it
Its a retro kit
So i need to ditch this and but a new retro kit for a four foot tank?
Sorry if these sounds like ridiculous questions
Is so what wattage lights and how many do I need?

What size do I buy?
Can the light fittings I have now hold a bigger tube or not?

Your tank is 250 gallons but only 4' long? How tall is it?

t5's less expensive, less energy, bulbs last longer, come in 4 foot lengths

Actually, I think MH are more efficient in terms of light output per watt, depending on the setup, but T5s are very good. I don't like the look of T5 setups much, though. Personal taste.
