six hours of lighting only
i was wondering if six hours of lighting/day will affect my corals. the reason i'm doing this is because i have massive hair algae, and bubble algae are starting to grow all over.
i got phosban running for a week now and my fuge lights are on after the tank light goes off. they are usually on for 8 hrs+. the algae are starting to disappear but i'm afraid that my corals are not getting enough light. will they be okay??

Now, you may want to take this up with Dr. Ron, but what I have read and been told is that your daylights should be on for a minimum of 6 hours... since the coral does require that. Go ask Ron, he'll give you a good answer.

I think tank temperature plays a role in algae. What is your temp?

I had major algae problems, due to new tank syndrome. I raised my alk to 12.6 dKH and miraculously it all went away. I had green hair algae and Dinos... it was everywhere.... it is now all GONE!!
