Tridacna mantles sometimes have warts (also called protuberances). Here's a great article from Reefkeeping online magazine that will help with clam identification:

Hear is my Squamosa, It has been in tank for about 4 years and has doubled in size..the tank is lit with 6-96w PC's...

Here's my baby

T. Maxima


and the same from top down


I have a 20 Long (12" deep) with 2 65w pc and 20w of actinic. I had put him on this side of the tank orginally but when I added some new coral I moved him to the other side under the actinics, which he apparently didn't like because he moved himself back tot he orginal place climed up on the rocks and put his foot down.

i dont mean to jack, but so what is acutally fed as supplement??

the link posted about specified that clams do need feedings.. if so what will work??

Phytoplankton. "DT's" is a commonly sold commercial brand.
Sweet clams, dphinsx2.

Just to share a baby blue tear drop maxima I bought it of a local reefer in my country.....very nice contrast
its about 5-6 inches

Here's an older pic of it. The way it sits, it's hard to get a good pic of it right now.


Last month I put a hemi in it and added the racing strips to it.
