and post my first question whilst im at it
first of all bit of info as to help you guys with the answer

tank is 2x2x2 holds 46gallons (50 )without rocks

deapth of sand in tankfluctuates from 5inch to 3 inch very uneven serface all round tank in three colours

skimmer is a red hang on delux

filter is a tricle filter turnaround 120ltrs ph

water movement via 2 x aquapower head 301 one at rear left pointing at the one in the front right one 10 cm higher than the other
3 x eden 226 800 ltrs ph on back glass at diffrent hights coming threw rock work on timer at 15mins on 15 mins off

lighting is 3 x 38 watt t5 marine blue and white compacts

salanity is 1.023
temp at 79
ph 8.0
nitrate 5
nitrite 0.50
amonia 0.50
all gradually coming down as testing tank at 12 oclock every day for last week and half (damned this is a hrd waiting game for a man with little patiance)

started to get the algae bloom all the litt tells me about so got some calipera orderd and should be here by wed at the latest
this will not only give the empty tank some thing diffrebt to stare at but should help bring down those nasties

anyway now the question is calcium
getting the test kit and if it low on cal could i use neat calcium the sort from the chemist or does it need to be from the lfs

I got some Anhydrous Calcium Chloride from my pharmacy friend.
It is way cheaper than anything you could get from a LFS.

how did you dilute it down
