Aggressive Wrasse !!!???

Hi All,

I am experiencing something really weird in my tank! I have a red sea wrasse and also a cleaner wrasse. These two have lived in happy harmony for about 5 months now with no problems.

All of a sudden, the red sea wrasse will not leave the cleaner wrasse alone. It actively chases the poor guy down and terrorises him to the point that he goes and hides and will not come out!

Can anybody shed any light on this weird behaviour and what can be done to settle it all down? I love the peaceful tranquility of the cleaner and am seriously debating taking the red sea wrasse back to the pet shop if I can't solve this....

Thanks....

In cases like this, mostly you just have to separate the animals. I don't see any other solution, well, maybe a larger tank...

A Red Sea wrasse is know to have a mean streak. Yours just took it's time getting it. Sorry--

Just to let you know....I believe we've now reached the end of the problem...the cleaner wrasse has learned that he doesn't have to do much to outrun the red sea wrasse and a result the red sea wrasse has calmed down completely....everyone is happy again....
