Yellow Tang wasting away
My Yellow tang, who's about 3 years old, is slowly wasting away! He's down to where all his bones stand out prominently in his skin. I'd reduced his nori ration for a while because there was plenty of green algae for him to eat, but when I noticed him getting skinny I started feeding him more again. But he's continued to shrink.
There's no other sign of illness, he eats readily, has good color and activity, no red spots, no ick signs, and all the other fish and corals in the tank are looking great. Never seen any aggression from my other fish either. Water parameters are great. Salinity: 1.025 Nitrate: undetectable Phosphate: undetectable Ca: ~400 Alk: 8-9 Any suggestions? Is there some kind of Tang wasting disease (similar to neon tetra wasting disease)? Thanks Phil |
