I have had mine for about 8 months now. I believe that there is alot of "luck of the draw" but a few things may better your chances.
1. Make sure that you are buying from a very good and reputable LFS. 2. Have your LFS hold it for 3-4 weeks to be sure that it is healthy and eating well it their tank. 3. Be sure that you are going to put it into a tank where it will not be harrassed "stress kills". 4. Have a tank that has enough flow to be a SPS dominated tank. I personally believe that this could be the breaking point of keeping an Achillies. 5. Be sure to have nori on hand for it to feed on until it recognizes feeding time. 6. Have enough free swimming space in your tank. That is the best advise that I can give for now. Jimmy

Also consider that the only tanks that I have personally seen them survive in is SPS dominant tanks (i.e. lots of flow). |

The tank is a 400 USG SPS dominated reef tank and, as well as the greens in their regular food, the fish get a sheet of Nori to tear at about once a week and in summer they get fresh ulva as well.. Steve Last edited by Steve Atkins; 09/12/2005 at 03:55 PM. |

As jjjimmy said achilles need a lot of water flow. Do a search for previous threads and you will hear more about this.
