Arrow Porcelain Crab in a nano

Hello all,

At my LFS they have porcelain anemone crabs for sale. I have been looking for an interesting invert for my 10g nano, and was wondering whether anyone else here keeps them in nanos with success. Also with my tank being a nano I do not have an anemone. Are they content without an anemone to host in, or will they bother other corals in the tank. Any other additional info that I should know about?

Thanx for any help

I have had mine for 4 years.

I do not have any anemones in my tank.

It doesn't bother the corals at all. It is a filter feeder though it look pretty imposing. Mine does not come out very much. Stays among the rocks pretty much out of sight.

I have one in a 5.5g & it's doing well. I dose the tank DT's phyto & oyster eggs here & there, but he also loves Omega One marine flake food as well as cyclopeeze. He knows where to crawl and knows whats going on when he sees the feeding pipette. He'll hold one "fan" out at the end of the pipette and I gently blow some food into his fan & he catches it kinda like a baseball glove.

I also have one and think they are great additions to a nano. I doubt you would EVER see him if you had one in a larger tank.

Just a small note: White porcelain crabs have symbiotic relationships with anemones but others dont (like the one in the picture).
