How much flow would be to much

Well I am in the process of making a SPS reef in a 30g. I have decided on using 2 koralia or 2 maxijets inside the system. The problem is I'm not sure what models to go with. I was thinking either two of the koralia 2 models or 2 600/900 maxijets with the sureflow design. I also need to know if there would be to much flow for the fish. The only fish I chose that would constantly use the water column would be the yellow coris wrasse and a cardinal fish. Thanks for any advice given.

i just bought a koralia 1 and it couldnt hold a candle to my maxijet 1200.strange because the koralia is rated at 400 gph and the maxijet at only 295.i also did away with my maxijet 900 no more flow than the koralia 1.before you spend and regret, stick with 2 maxijet 1200.

In one of my SPS frag systems that is 40g, I have two K-4's and a modded mj1200. Are you going bare bottom? if so i'd kick around the most water you can with the eyesore amount you can handle from pumps

the mj unmodded flow is narrow, that is why your mj seemed to have more flow than the k's, go with modded mj

buy a Vortech...it will suite all your flow needs in that tank for as long as you have it...I have a Vortech in my 24g and I wouldn't dream of using anything else

i wouldnt' buy the 6045's just get the 6025s and cut the restriction out , it will flow the same and save you $60

not to get the thread off topic, but can you cut the restriction out of the 6045s for more flow?

+1 on the tunzies, they are small, efficent diverse flow, the korelias have a more diverse flow, but they physicly take up a lot more room in your tank

I second this. Cut a few more slits and it goes a little further.

I've got a 6025 and a K2....6025 makes way more flow. And I haven't even cut out the restriction yet...

Get 2 6025s. If you need more flow, then cut one then the other untill you get enough.
