Bulkhead plumbing question

I was told to use spa tubing from the buldheads of a drilled glass tank. Can I use pvc hard pipe for my returns, for some reason everytime I use spa tubing into a bulhead, I get a small leak. I clean prime and glue and still same results, but never get leak on hard pipe. Is it Ok for to use hard pipe ofr should I use spa tubing?

You can use hard PVC. I use flexible tubing with barbed fittings for my returns but the hard stuff will work just fine.

I don't have to worry about it cracking the glass in the long run?

No, the spa flex is probably heavier than the hard pvc.

I tried to make it nice and clean by securing the tubing to the stand with conduit straps to take the weight off and still got a leak. I am definetly not a plumber, I got a plumber friend coming over tonight to redo everything, but not sure to go to hard or spa? I think I will just have him hard pipe everthing to make it easier as long as no risk of cracking glass.

I wouldn't worry about it. I also think the spa flex would be more strain on the glass because of the tention it would give from the curvature of it.

Spa flew should be used with the proper spa flex glue to prevent leaks. If you choose to use it.

Just as everyone said, spa flex is fine, just use the right glue for it.... the baby blue container.. rain or shine.

Thanks for all the help. I had my plumber come over and he did everything all over. I used the wrong glue on the flex, I used regular pvc glue and it leaked. He used Flex glue and everything came out perfect.

It was amazing how easy the spa tubing broke off all of the pvc valves and bulheads with just the regular pvc glue. Thank god it was caught not to late. I am just glad that I had no fire when it leaked, it leaked right on the surge protector which started smoking and blew the house fuse.
