Question Which Test Kit

I am looking for a test kit that has everything needed to test a reef tank. Can anyone suggest a good test kit that will include all the needed test? Also, which test are a must for a soft coral reef tank?

I like API or seachem. IMO if your keeping a reef of any size, if your going to dose it, test for it first. It's never a bad idea to test for everything that can be tested, it's just a little expensive to do it that way. NO2, NO3, CA2, Mg, KH, PO3, PO4, NH3, and NH4 are the basics.

API Master reef test kit, master saltwater test kit, about the same with seachem multi test kits, and magnesium. You'll see them listed on the box.

If you go with the API saltwater kit you will also need calcium, KH and Phosphate. I also test for magnesium.

You might want to check what comes in the reef kit, it may have some of the extra tests mentioned above, I have'nt seen the reef kit so I couldn't tell you...

Also I have never tried them myself as i live in Aus, but I've read some of the RC sponsors will do a discount if you buy a few different kits. May be worth a look.

Rich.
