What a day!

Yesterday a friend from the LFS saved me a little smithii from his boss, who was just about to stomp on it!

He's particularly aggressive at the moment (prob a bit stressed!)
He's 2" long with the mottled green markings.
Have friend with digi cam coming to take pics of all my mantis next week! will post him up then...

After getting home and setting him up I find another reefer who is pulling down his tank and has offered me the mantis he has...

I haven't seen this one yet the only description I have so far is he's 1.5 to 2" long and orange...

No Idea if it's a smasher or a spearer...

Any ideas on what I might be getting?

Any way, just thought I'd share. Took me forever to find the 2 mantis I have already. now 2 in one day!!

The orange one sounds like a ciliata possibly.

Yeah I was thinkin it could be I've seen yellow ones over here...
Was sort of hoping it was another smasher...
Guess it doesn't really matter, I don't have a spearer yet, it'll be interesting to see one in action...

Ive always wanted to try out a P. ciliata myself. a spearer with the temperament of a smasher? hell yeah. it's also nice that they done require the specific care that some other spearers require (a dsb for instance)
