Levels in Tank
I am pretty new to this still but I recently set up a 125 gollon tank for the purpose of starting a reef tank. Here are some of my levels just seeing if someone can give me some advice or guidance on what I should do.
Mag - 1470 salinity 1.026 (The local saltwater dealer said this is a good salinity not sure though) Phosphate .4 ppm alk 3.4 All the other levels in the tank are fine except those mentioned above. |

The phosphates are high. The rest is perfect. Was the live rock from someone elses tank?

The LFS was correct. You may be lucky and have a knowledgable LFS.

As mentioned above you should really do something about the phosphate levels.
A phosban reactor will do wonders as will a refugium with macro algae in it. Some people run both some just go with one or the other... Also I'd look at slowly raising the alkalinity a bit. Some where around 10dkh is ideal... How old is the tank so far?
