How big of a chiller do I need?

I have 120g total I need to drop.

Tank temps reach 84 during the day then drop ot 80 overnight.

I am guessing a 1/4hp chiller.

1/3 HP sounds better to me. Less work for the chiller.

1/4hp chiller can do

10 degree cooling up to 180 gallons
30 degree cooling up to 100 gallons

I only need to drop 120g of water 5 degree's.

why not add a fan?
i bet if you switched out that mag for an eheim or ocean runner you would be able to keep the temp down without a chiller

Yep duty cycle on the chiller can be greatly reduced by preventing heat transfer as much as possible.. the pump recommendation sounds like a good one.
