I didn't get my Tek light yet but I cut down my old 48" VHO set and got some 36" bulbs so I could get the whole tank lit for the time being. So here's a full tank shot. I'm still debating if I should take out the middle rocks to give more space between the two sides. I have the large pulsing leather in there and a few frags for now.

took a few more pics last night...

Here are my lights...i am using 4x39w T5 bulbs w/ SLR reflectors and Icecap 660 ballast. These really crank out some serious light and I have been able to get growth on my "experiment frags" down on the sand.

Here is the underneath showing the equip.

Sump is an AGA 15g
Eheim 1250 Return Pump
Deltec AP600 Skimmer skiming 100% from the drain
A little refugium w/ some cheato and calerpa w/ cheapo HD clamp light and a 6500k bulb.
5.5g Topoff Tank. (I use a double float switch and an aqualifter.)
Tunze 6000 w/ controller
Reefkeeper 2 controller
Refurbed Perilstatic dosing pump w/ 2-channel tubing set to dose B-Ionic.

Very nice! I'm going to switch over to two T5s and two VHOs. Might go 3 and 1 in the future. I found out that I can run all on the same ballast at the same time, so I am set to go with minimal cost. I definetly like the color with T5s better than with the VHOs.

Thanks. The center of the tank is actually built with PVC piping and the rock is zip-tied to it. So the center section of the rock is pretty empty which allows for some good flow through the tank and plenty of room for the fish to hid.

It's a pretty simple setup. I have a 15 gallon sump/fuge below w/skimmer. As for maintance...I probably haven't done a water change in about three months when that picture was taken, lol. I started to get some more algae so I've been keeping up with the maintance better. I just started dosing with Kalk to help get the PH/Cal/Alk in check and hopefully get some better growth from my SPS. I have a ton of pictures but they are mostly on individual corals or fish, not too many of the tank other than a full tank shot.

Great tanks guys! I was glad to see this thread come back to the top. I was following it when it was first posted.
I've had my 38 for about 5 years and I'm over due for an upgrade. I've been seriously thinking about going to a 65, mainly LPS/SPS, because the space I have to put it in is by a main entrance to my house. In other words, I need the 3 ft length in case I need to move large items in or out of the house. I love the 2' height on these and the extra depth.

Keep the pics coming!

This might sound dumb but is that a turtle shell in the first pic right about in the middle in the sand?

msuzuki,
I can't find any local buyer. I started with 1 less than a year ago, now there are nine of them.

I'm not sure if this was a question for me? Kind of threw me off a little since I don't have sand , but if it is then the coral is a echinophyllia sp.(chalice), closeup pic is the first of my second post.
