well the place the dj strip is in wasn't the original place i was going to put it. That spot was just gonna be a shelf for stuff like fish food, etc.. I'm going to build something on the right side of the sump, at first was gonna put my 5 gallon bucket for ATO, but its hard to fit in there. So i'm probablly gonna end up doing a little thing there for dosing 2 part. But when thats done, ill probably relocate the dj strip. I think it should be ok where it is though since there is that wood barrier between them and the outlets.

IMO there is no such thing as too big of a skimmer. It just means you can feed more!

Ok....so i did it, the transfer is done. Ran into some problems, first had some plumbing problems, leaked around the bulkhead and the hole in the wood top of the stand was to small to reach in and tighten the bulkhead nut, so had to dremel out some wood to reach. Tank was filled 1/4 of the way already. Yea so check for leaks in the overflow before filling, eh i'll learn from my mistakes. Anyways didnt have enough water made, so by the time that was done being fixed i had enough So far everything is looking ok in the tank, fish look fine, corals good, some opened up right away. Like my toadstool. Tanks not too cloudy either, used a garbage bag over the sand to help with that.
Filling up

almost there

sump mess, needs some organizing

the tank with actinics..

Need some more rock, i'll start aquascaping tomorrow. Broke a piece of my beautiful monti cap off since it was attached to 2 rocks in the 46, hope it grows back just as nice. Still need to finish the doors for the canopy, came out funny after i laquered them so gonna redo it. Thanks for looking...

Great start! Can't wait to see it come together. I've had the leaking bulkhead with too small of a hole to tighten it too. I think everyone who has been in this hobby long has.

those actually arent the t5s yet, havent seen them on yet, will at 12 though . Those are my 192 watts of pc actinics. Um the superskimmer....Its actually the css65 model used on my 46g, it'll pull some good stuff once in a while but sometimes itll overflow out the cup on me a lot of times. I'm going to go with the octo nw 200 in a month or so. Gotta save up first though.

Cleared up pics!!! Well some a little cloudy cause i kept rearranging stuff. Needs more more rock though.
Actinics only

PC Actinics and t5 actinic plus/aquablue

Full lights on...
with flash

without flash

I think im pretty happy with the way the color came out. A lot of blue with some white. I like the way my corals look under these lights. They are opening so they seem to be doing ok, they are all towards the bottom so they can get used to the light.
Bulb order, back to front:
t5 - aquablue
t5 - actinic plus
pc - actinic 03
pc - actinic 03
t5 - aquasun 6500
t5 - aquablue

enjoy the pics, comments welcome

You can mod that skimmer very nicly with a sedra. Just drill in and place uniseals to make it recirculate. Mine performs very, very well.

I really like the doors but I do have a suggestion... maybe frost the back of the glass also. Then you won't be able to see through your cutouts.

Other than that, good work!

nah left em on, like the slight yellowish look it gives out, JK . But yea i took em off.

I dont know about frost on the back of the doors, because then you wont really be able to see the designs. And i would like the back to be just glass without frost so its easy to clean if theres splashes and stuff.

Got the doors on finally, heres a pic with the flash on

I'm no expert but it is my understanding they are bad, and love to eat zoo's...

I know they blend it to what they eat.. Not sure if its cause they ingest it or if they do it on purpose.

Get rid of it, it may/will breed..

Well put my cheato in the fuge section, is there a big advantage to using refugium mineral mud...http://www.drsfostersmith.com/Produc...1&N=2004&Nty=1
over normal aragonite sand in the fuge area??
