Two U-Tubes one overflow box
I was wondering if anyone has tried to run two U-tubes in their overflow so you can increase the flow. Does anyone think this will work.

I used 2 u-tubes with 2 drilled holes in the same overflow box. Worked fine.

as long as there is capacity for an equal amount of water to flow out of the back section then it should work fine.

Should not be a problem, I am running 2 utubes in a 600gph overflow, and 3 in my 1200gph overflow..

i don't think the problem is getting the water to the sump, nor getting it from teh sump back to the tank. the problem i've heard is that excessive flow through your sump will create noise problems.
i have two holes in my overflow, and considered using both at outflow holes. ultimately, it sounded like it would cause more problems than solve, and i elected to plumb it right and use powerheads for more flow. from what i understand, there's no real advantage to getting more flow through your sump. |
