Good source for hard to find PVC fittings
Hi Everyone,
I found a good affordable source for hard to find PVC fittings that I would like to share with everyone.. They have 1" Slip slip WYE fittings, 3/4" WYE fittings and even 1/2" WYE fittings, among other hard to find fittings.. A WYE fitting is used to split flow (like a barbed Y but NO restriction as a barbed gives you) and is less harsh on the flow as a regular T fitting is, and creates less turbulence in your return lines.. Less chance of pump cavitation due to pressure loss (backflow in the impeller housing) = less head = greater flow Also If anyone has a source for a TRUE 1" PVC SLIP SLIP WYE fitting (similar in shape to a BARBED Y fitting) im interested in that link.. All I could find is the WYE fitting below... It will work it just takes more space than a regular T fitting will by the looks of things Here is the link below for anyone interested in a 1" PVC WYE.. for low head plumbing sweeps.. http://www.plumbingworld.com/pvc.html#wye Trust me these are HARD to find under 2 or 3". This one is 1" that I need for my setup, they also have 1/2" and 3/4" too.. I could see this being handy for a LOT of people like myself wanting to split the flow but avoid loss and turbulence, esp in my case so CLOSE to the pump Look for the REGULAR WYE on the page. They 1" run about 2.40$ ea. Like I said they also have a selection of HARD to find PVC fittings as well |

just ordered a couple of 1" Wye's for my Closed Loop Hopefully it will resolve my pump cavitation issue and allow me to split the flow on the outlet of my pump at 5" away without creating the turbulence and (assumed) pressure drop = cavitation

Mmmm Lemme check something out... Alright! I found the WYE I was looking for on USPlastics! I thought I saw one somewhere but forgot.. Thanks for reminding me about USP! Here is the link the WYE fitting Im looking for! Not cheap, but if it solves my cavitation problem, it will be well worth it. http://www.usplastic.com/catalog/pro...duct%5Fid=6304 I will get the other one from the plumber supply shortly and will try them too! Another great supplier for fittings, plastic and all kinda things is McMaster Carr.. www.mcmaster.com Last edited by Poseidon's Vortex; 08/30/2005 at 01:55 AM. |
