Yellow Clown Goby

I just read from a site that yellow clown gobies will lay eggs under acropora's bases. I am a bit worry now since my tank is 97% SPS!

Common senses dictates that in order for animals to reproduce, they need another. Since there is only one of the yellow clown goby, it shouldn't lay eggs, right?

Also, its nipping at my Blue Monster...should I be worried?

They usually nip at SPS corals. You actually have more reason to worry if you only have a few small SPS in your system. In a tank with lots of them, clown gobies rarely do long term damage to the corals.

My sps tank is currently frags atm since I started it a few weeks ago. They don't eat polyps right? Do you suggest that I moved the clown gobie to my ricordia tank?

I have a yellow clown goby in my tank and it could give a crap about the hard corals. He just chills out on a mushroom polyp or on a high piece of tonga branch live rock.besides he really can't keep up with the high flow where my SPS are.

Mine chills between the rocks, but sometimes swims over to the SPS and nips at them. Its a cute little bugger and I would hate to get rid of it.

Yes, they do a little bit, but usually don't do enough damage to really notice. They most typically eat the polyps where the branching occurs.

Thanks everyone for answering. Now I am a bit scared...I might move it to the ricordia tank, but that doesn't have a cover...

What do you guys suggest? I don't want to lose anything
