6-line bully

I have just added a 4-inch flame wrasse to my 180 and notice that my 6- line wrasse is chasing him around. It would be near impossible to catch either fish. I was thinking of adding another 6-line to divert attention away possibly from my new male flame. It is always hit or miss when adding to an established tank. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Me too, but my new additions is 2 clownfishs.

I intend to lockup the wrasse. Can't catch or bait it.

Also pondering another 6 lines as "diversion".

If you come up anything good, hope you don't mind sharing.

i think adding another 6line would be a mistake. i personally have had nothing but problems with them. once they settle in they seem to get mean. the one that i still have was the same way until i added a royal gramma. he went after the royal gramma but the gramma stood his ground. they bickered back and forth for a few days, and now all is well. i hope this is of some help. i hope you don't have to catch him because you will most likely have to tear your whole tank apart. good luck, derek

Another 6-line will most likely just end up with you having a dead 6-line. These things are pretty pugnacious once they're settled into a tank.

I thought 6 lines wrasse is "peaceful" tankmate, according to liveaquaria.

Probably have to take their size into account too.

i've never had one that wasn't hostile towards new additions.

You always have to take fish and tank size into account when discussing aggression. That said, I would rarely consider these "peaceful" fish.
