There are two different "cycles" that are referred to, in this thread.
1. Concrete (aragocrete reef rocks or frag plugs) has a curing cycle that needs to be completed prior to placement in an aquarium, as un-cured concrete produces alkalinity that raises pH. 2. Developing denitrifying bacteria for biological filtration in an aquarium is another "cycle" that everyone should be familiar with. These two "cycles" are different and shouldn't be confused. HTH |

How long would you suggest I cure my DIY plugs made of hydraulic cement? The are currently in the back of my commode. TIA.

Most of the alkalinity should be gone after 30 days.
