It was worth a shot!

Turns out my "Eagle Eyes" are "Wham'n Watermelons". Oh well!

I get the same two mixed up....and I have plenty of both.

Here's a top down shot of some watermelons (?). I just culled the rock that I started these with.....so what you see is new growth. [on the right of the first photo]

FWIW. I was trying to get a decent shot of these, and my boss walked in......oops. I've quit taking photos for the day. : )

Here's a few more from 'earlier' today.

Some yellow and blue polyps that I wish I could see under hallides.

Some polyps that I got from BibleSue. Centers are very neon (flourescent) green.

Another angle of the watermelons/eagle eyes.

Thanks guys. I failed miserably in trying to keep zoas early on....but now it's starting to work....though, I still lose 'em.
Those 'common' green zoas on the rock with the watermelons look GREAT under the night lights. I truly think zoas look best at night under the soft, dim blue lights.

Wow! You've got all kinds of great looking blue zoas in there. BibleSue and weetabix7 are coming to the swap... and I'm DEFINITELY hoping to get some frags from them! They have AMAZING zoas!

You should share your trials are errors in keeping zoas at a club meeting some time.

Mine aren't that black, that's for sure, but I haven't seen them under hallides either. I'm sure the colors would pop under different light.

If you want to see those yellow and blue polyps under halides, just bring me some. I have a 10g with 150W of halide and a good camera that I will take pictures with to send you

Actually, I fragged a piece of the yellows for a trade a month or so ago. I have some pics coming any day now....but thanks for the offer of assistance. FWIW.....I've been told they turned into a 'rainbow' type of color.
Hopefully, these will 'take off' soon and I'll have some to frag. They are quite unusual in color.

They look nice and if they do color up in high light then I bet they look great. Once they take off let me know, especially if they are rainbow in high light I am interested.

Sorry to burst your bubble but these colors were not photo shopped in any way at all. The only thing I do PS wise is a little sharpen and auto correct sometimes. Whoever got these from me last year can attest to how bright they were in the frag tank.

Depending on the light and location of the polyps they will either be darker or brighter. Notice in my pic the polyp underneath is allot darker. Also I have never had one look that washed out as in Fans photo. (no offense) Mine are kept under MH's and I dont know what Fan is keeping them under.

BTW I use the FULL version not elements...LOL!

Here is when I first got the frag. Notice the surrounding colors are still intact on the sand, frag plus, Coraline algae and such....

That looks like the ones that I have.....I just can't get a good photo of them. They are the absolute most difficult for me to focus on.....I don't know why.

My lights are T5's.....10k and actinic 460.

Mark, I know I don't have much for trade, -- maybe an acan sometime in the future when you have a spare polyp or two...
