Bare Bottom-Starboard or ABS?
Tried to find some Starboard real quick and not having much luck. Well they will sell me a whole sheet of 1" for $120. They dont have any thinner stuff at this time. I Talked to a custom aquarium builder and he recommeded ABS.I am going to cut it to fit and run a bead of silicone along the edges. Can anyone tell me yeah or nay on the ABS?

You can get starboard in smaller sizes and thicknesses from FARCO plastics off of OBT.

what size tank? i managed to find cutting boards at target with no handle hole, they are 14 x 17 and 9.99 ea. i bought 4 of them and am just going to cut the one to shape around overflow, much cheaper than starboard, i ran into the same problem as you, couldn't justify spending over $100 for a bottom.

Try Peidmont plastics at Mason & Williamson.

I'm going bare bottom in my mixed reef. It looks a little odd right now, but in a few months, the floor will be completely covered in corals. I was worried at first, but so far the tank is doing fantastic! I may spread a little black crushed glass over the bottom just to fill it in, but I'll suck it back out as the corals grow in.
