And how is this "responsible reefkeeping"....................................
Not to mention "DUH" it's pretty obvious the reefs were messed up, but I think the concern should be shifted more towards the people than the reef.

There have been 90 tsunami in the last two hundred years... yet the reefs are still there. I think they're better prepared to suffer natural events like this than human interference /pollution.
FWIW the Krakatoa explosion of 1883 produced a wave 10 metres higher and with twice the power behind it, yet locally reefs managed to survive quite nicely.

I was posting to inform people regarding the other casatstrophe occuring, other than the obvious loss of life.

Apparently some people take offense to my attempt to link a news story in the appropriate place.

Closing the thread would be the best.

I can see no good reason why this topic should not be discussed.
