Caulerpa taxifolia
Did anyone see the PBS special on the Caulerpa taxifolia and does anyone still keep this species. If anyone still has some how would you go about getting rid of it?

Yes. Appalling. I didn't like the stuff before I saw that NOVA - my fav show on TV. There's only about a zillion other sources of macro algea to use (although they might be just as bad as Caulerpa taxifolia)
Rid it? Probably couldn't. You could keep pulling it out as you see it, but unless you break the tank down there'll probably allways be a small speck starting to grow somewhere. I'm trying to keep it out of my new tank, but it's in my older one that I'm phasing out. http://swr.nmfs.noaa.gov/hcd/caulerpa/factsheet203.htm Quote:

Uh, I and many others have denifitly rid our tanks of taxifolia. FWIW, you'll probably never see the strain in question. It's not that prevelant in hobbyists aquariums.
