calcium level won't rise

I have a 90 gal FOWLR tank, with 50 LBS of live rock. I recently switched from a 55 gal tank. I've been adding Purple UP daily for about a month and half. The calcium level has stoped at 340 to 360 ppm and won't rise even though I keep adding Purple UP. There is a little coralina algae but not growing on everything like I have seen on other tanks. All the fish are healthy, ammonia, nitritre 0 and nitrate low. Why won't the calcium level go up any more. What do you guys think?

try Kent Turbo Calcium or do a search for Randy's two-part solution and make your own.

I just learned this in my situation. Alk may be too high. If it is too high, it wont let any more dissolve in the water.

Do you have aragonite sand? Purple up is basically bottled sand... Why do you think it will help? Kalc and/or 2-part will work much better...

First, test alkalinity and magnesium. These two and calcium are all connected. Also, you might try switching to a product made specifically for adjusting Ca and Alk levels independent of each other.

It's a witches potion. Purple up does nothing, it doesn't even disolve..... IE sand in a bottle.

Purple up is definitely worthless as stated before. Magnesium could be your problem. It is very hard to keep steady levels when you are deficient in mag. Make sure your testing and not blindly added things to your tank. Randy's two part is a very cheap alternative and works for me currently in my tank.

I also agree on alk and mag.
Sometimes the addition of a phosban reactor can lower alk and mag and make it almost impossible to up cal.
