SCWD wont switch

So I noticed they other day it looked like the water was returning through one tube on the return from my sump. I turned of the pump let water backflow a second or two then started it back up. This made the SCWD switch backflow tubes but will still not switch back and forth on its own. Any ideas? Could it possibly be the fact that the pump pushing through it has too much pressure?

prob just needs some tlc

I typically have to take mine apart twice a year and soak it in some vinegar to dissolve build up. It works like a charm!

But that is the whole issue the sump that it is controling the flow from has only been in use for about 2 months and the SCWD is brand new.

Hard to say, I have a couple of them do this on me. I managed to free one up by soaking in vinegar the other never worked again.

I used to soak mine a few times a year in vinegar. I did have a small grain of sand get caught in the gears one time so I used small screwdriver and rotated the gears enough to clear the grain and it worked fine ever since.
