It depends on the way the door hinges, the look you want, and your budget.

www.rockler.com has a whole bunch of hinges!

After having a few hinges corrode, I found some PVC hinge at Mcmaster Carr, it comes in 6' lengths.

You want a child's toy box hinge. Like this one:http://images.rockler.com/tech/33027...id-support.pdf
They come in all kinds of styles, just tell the very, very, very helpful associates what you want to do.

I'm saying it is not part of the hinge.... it is seperate part... usually on one side, sometimes two. Two flat rods that piviot at one end and are each attached to the individual peices that open (canopy and lid).... when fully extended it locks straight (thus "locking" lid open). It has nothing to do with a piano hinge.... it doesn't serve that perpose. It probably doesn't matter what kind of hinge you use with it.

Corrotion is never a problem if it gives reason to upgrade to a BIGGER tank! Then we welcome corrotion (and hopefully a raise at work).

I think what you're looking for is a "flap-stay" and not a hinge...

I order a lot of stuff from www.leevalleytools.com

That is not the exact model I had in mind but that is exactly the type of hardware I was talking about.... what a funny name... "flap-stay"... I'm going to go around all day and say, "flap-stay." It is my new word!
