Sorry to say you get only 2 out of 5

Here's my getto canopy (before i built one) i no longer have a pic of it with out the canvas but you get the idea. It was a cut down walmart clothes closet type contraption with two 400 watt halides in spyder reflectors zip tied to the cross brace.

My "DIY with free stuff" canopy is pretty ghetto. Its corrogated galvanized aluminum bended over two half circles of plywood. I have to use a can of fish food to prop it up when I need to get into te tank. The metal halide is screwed into the two half circles. I couldnt afford any sort of reflector, so I used what metal I had laying around. Its almost rusted through. Also, I know nothing about wireing so, the quick disconnect plug is spliced with the old mogul socket wireing. I dont have a picture but Ill see if I can get one this weekend.

OK, here my share of ghetto ambition. A feeding trough balanced on cinder blocks with a 5 gallon mini propped up in it on three PVC legs. The home depot clip on lights hanging from the ceiling light chain is especially flaky. Ya I'm po, but it's all good : )

http://reefcentral.com/gallery/showp...t=1&thecat=500

Got tired of messing with the rock work. My solution was this butt ugly PVC rock rack.

Wow. I wonder if my wife would let me put a fuge in our jacuzzi? Or maybe a prop tank. That would be so cool.

This thread is the best I've seen in a long time.

Just a ghetto tip for algae growing in tubing :
Garden hose is opaque and really cheap and there are lots of fittings at HD available for working with it. All 3 of my glass tanks were either freebies or the cube was $10 because it had a cracked side panel.

Well, I am probably going to lose any last shred of credibility I have ever achieved on this board right now.

Welcome to the ghetto, da fugly tank o tha month fer sherrr.
(at least everything is on GFI's) I have styrofoam panels that attach to the "superhood" and hide all the lights and wiring abortion for if company is coming over

[in my best crocodile dundee voice] "You call that a fan? 'Ere's a real fan." (well I have 2200 watts of lights to cool, only one Iwasaki is on at this point, dawn-dusk sequencing, you know )

ambient lighting pic:

flash pic to show how gross it really is:
