Set-up Question
Well i took down my 30 Gal. due to lots of algae, and a cyano problem. Now the livestock, along with a few pieces of LR are in a temporary tank with a skimmer, while i'm cooking the rest of the LR in a rubbermaid with no light, and doing WC's on both weekly.
My question is how do i set everything back up when the time comes. Do i make up all new water and put the rock, and sand in and then wait to put the livestock in, or do i put everything back in at once, while re-using some of the old water? I know the rock is cured, and i am using new dry sand, so there shouldn't be any cycle. |

I would put the sand and liverock in, wait for the water to clear up enough to see where you want to place your other corals (assuming corals are part of your livestock), then put everything else in. I've used process when upgrading tanks and never had a problem.

When you put the sand in, the water will be cloudy. Your skimmer will go crazy. Take yout time. Let the sand settle, arrange your rock, then when your happy add the fish. Too much at once would create a disaster.

I would put new sand in the tank, then the rock, and immediatly start filling the tank with new water.
