Six-Line Food?

I'm thinking about getting a six-line wrasse but at the moment all I have is flake food. Would he eat it or should I get frozen food before I buy him?

A six line, in my opinion and experience, will eat anything and everything... it will also desimate your pod & bristleworm populations if it's going in a 10g. Any other fish in there? Flake only isn't a good diet for anyone, plus its far more likely to foul your water quality. That said I feed a bit of flake, pellet, and a variety of frozen (mysis is a favorite of everyone, especially with a couple drips of seacom & garlic)

My sixline eats everything, really likes the fozen and live mysis shrimp.

They are great fish to watch because they always swim in and around the rock.

Yeah, the Six-Line will go in the 10 gallon. I don't care to much about the pods or bristle worms because it's going to be the only fish in the tank.

I will go to the LFS and pick up some frozen mysis and some brine shrimp.

Thanks for the responses guys!

get small pellets and frozen or live brine/mysis. like jim and candi said, mine eats everything. they are very active so he should put on a good show in a 10g.

Cool, I'll pick up some pellets as well. He's only going to be in my 10 gallon for a little while. I Should be upgrading soon.

Well I just picked up my six-line he's about an inch and he is soooo freaking cute it's not funny, but anyway. I noticed that he will not touch flake food when it's in it's whole form *big pieces* but when I crumble it up into little tiny pieces he goes crazy. I just thought this was interesting. He jets after the tiny pieces and scoops them up but runs away from the big pieces haha.

I'm going to pick up some mysis and some brine. I'm also going to be picking up some pellets. Any recommendations?
