Haid
I would say this looks the closest to the one I saw. Not in Color but in "bumpiness" I might just have to go take a pic and post it. If it wont color up more than it is I prob wont buy it anyway. just thought it was an interesting piece.

Paul,
That is a nice peice at a great price. Does it have a green tint to it or is that just the pic?

Rockdr,
I would probablly wait until you see one with better coloration. The get big so I would look for something brighter if it were me.

Yea, seems like it is hard to get away from so much green. I will no longer buy anything green unless it is amazing or something. Green and Brown are overdone it my system as well. I have thought of selling off some of my earlier purchases just to make room for some color.

The green tint is mainly from the camera. There is a slight greenish tint to the more translucent tissue. I have a Nikon 5400 and I have heard that they are prone to this. I haven't learned to use the manual settings yet.

The color on the oral disk, inside of the tentacles is more accurate than the outer parts.

Coralite,

That red one you have is the nicest I have ever seen. I really dig how that looks. It would look better in my tank of course . . . Anyhow, do Scolymias usually color up more after importation? I've seen a number around here that look like they have potential if they brighten up. The few I've considered were rather expensive and I didn't want to spend the money unless I knew they would color up.

Thanks,

Steve

Thanks guys I collect all kind of stuff...lolas long as they are colorful and nice.

Those are sand anemone or flower anemone...I have 4 of them in the tank. There is one more but he is hiding behind the rock. I guess he is camera shy...

Epicystis crucifer. Didn't know they came in red. I have a green one for about 4 years that is 6" across----spawns every feb and august after the full moon. No joke. Done it for three years straight. So John, you should come down to one of our Richmond Reef Club meetings sometime. If I ever get my PC straight, I'll start posting pics of my own. I picked up a subechinata or hillae for stupid cheap the other day. A customer brought it to the store b/c they didn't like it......I did.

Not a very usual color for sure. I am sure it will look very nice when it fully open(completely round).

Great LPS. One word of caution: Scolymia and Cynarina are favorite targets for Angelfish to pick on. Sometimes Tangs will pick at them as well. Here's a pic of a Scolymia that smells food.
