Cleaner Shrimp
Our cleaner hangs out all the time atleast while we are awake and watching on one side of the tank. The water flow there keeps the food we are feeding the other fish away from it and it doesn't seem to get any. Do we need to target feed it or is it getting food elsewhere that I am unaware of?

I am sure it would enjoy a nice piece of gel food. They'll find thing to each but I like to keep mine fat and happy.

Mine cleaner is a super aggressive feeder. I just squirt him some food before I do a feeding and he's happy.

They will get food if they are hungry. They probably go around at night cleaning up. I wouldn't worry about them.

as soon as i pour food into the tank my cleaner flutters to the top of the rockwork and swims as high into the water as he can grabbing food. if i try to target feed anything he is right there scooping up food. is the cleaner shrimp new? when i first got mine he didnt come out of the rocks much.

The shrimp is new, say only 1 1/2 weeks in my tank.

it is probably just getting new to its surroundings... also when they shed their exoskeleton they will usually hang out in the rocks for a day or so until their new exo hardens. i wouldnt worry about it.
