Aquascaping Question

Today I received 44 lbs of uncured fiji live rock for my 90g tank in the works. I want to start aquascaping tonight. I also have another 30+ lbs of cured LR in my 30g display that has been running for 2 years.

So the question is: Can I add the cured rock from my 30g display to the uncured rock, so I could start aquascaping today?

Comments and responses are greatly appreciated,

MJD

Thanks for the response Mike,

But what about the coralline on the rock, won't it die?

I would have to run the lights but from what I hear that just creates unwanted algae.

Should I start my fuge up to get rid of this algae?

Comments and suggestions are always welcome,

If you aren't planning on putting anything in the tank but live rock, sand and saltwater my vote goes for adding it all and run the tank like you would had it been established.

If your curing dead rock in there I vote for no lights as long as possible. I did this with my tank and never even had an alge bloom but then again I didnt run any lights for almost two months.

Thanks for the responses guys,

so is that a yes with running the lights 2-3 hours a day?

I also have my skimmer chowing down on die-off.
