Need input on an ID
This is about 1.5 cm in diameter and started at probably half that size about a month ago. I discovered it on a shell covered with macro from the keys. I'm assuming some sort of colonial tunicate?
The "hole" at the top does contract slightly when disturbed. |

Not sure what it is but it looks pretty sweet....

Not sure myself...Maybe a tunicate, I take it the entire body is soft, right? Have you removed it from the tank for any time? If so is the inside filled with water which seeps out when removed? That would be a fairly good indicator if its a tunicate of some sort. It is sweet though....you see something new every day in this hobby....LOL

Yeah, the body is soft. I have not removed it from the water but I'd imagine it's pretty solid and wouldn't entirely "collapse".
It seems to be doing great but I'd just really like to know what the heck it is. |

It reminds me of this guy which came from the keys.
The top will react when you wave your hand in front of the glass. Pretty neat, I wish it was larger. |
