I heard Finz is shutting down their old store on Dale Mabry. I also heard and seen the results of thier crappy service they have completed on customer tanks, so Finz reputation is badly damaged in the professional community.....what a shame!

I saw a friend of a friend's tank FINZ setup. Very expensive, very bad results. Massive coral and fish dieoff.

You mentioned they will have the blue tubs like at Marine Warehouse. Maybe it is just me bit I hate those things! The reason is because you are looking at the corals top down. I want to see the coral how it is going to look in my tank, not as if I am staring down on it. Maybe it is just me but I like it better when you are looking at the corals straight on.

ron and chris never mentioned anything about propagating to me. are you sure about that ? retail space is best utilized for selling not growing.

I drove by last night and it looks like they are still working on setting it up.

So the corals in the bins will not be for sale since they are being grown out for fragging? Like Matt alluded to I thought that this was going to be a retail store?

Corals look "best" from the top under 14K-20K lighting. That's why the store is being setup that way. I think trigger originally posted the idea on the last thread about this store, that I agree, I want to see what the corals look like from the side, since I have a side view tank, not a top view tank.

he can't do both? If he has the square footage, why not.

Go and collect some great frags and start growing them out, might not be the most cost effective thing to do with his square footage, but it would be an interesting twist to the same ol store thing.

But to see them that way you need little to no surface movement.

Hard to do in an SPS tank that has 40x turnover

If you have a tank for top down viewing, that has a lot of surface movement, you can not see the corals, the view is distorted.

In my tanks when I have lots of movement, I can not get a good view top down without shutting down pumps
