is food grade dye reef safe?

my copperband butterfly eats lots of live black worms. he eats brine (I suspect because they are dark in color, just like the black worms). I want to ween him onto mysid shrimp by dying them black. will the food grade dye harm the copperband or my future chances of a reef tank?

ive gotta say no, as in its fine, i know people have dyed anemone in order to make them more colorful and saleable and as far as i know they are fine except they lose their great artificial color. i think you should try it in small doses and if it works let us know of your success.
