I am highly unimpressed by that peice.....maybe its just me. Looks like another green coral to me.

I kind of agree with ya. It is very nice so i wouldn't say it isn't impressive but i've seen a bunch of aussie acan's that look nicer than that,imo. Of all the pics of aussie's and other acan's that people have posted here just in the last few months, i don't think that one would even make my top 5.

i wonder how long did it take for mr Mac to grew that piece from tiny frag as he claims? ......... and he never wonted to show the pic of the colony in this 7-10 years it probably took him to feed it like a pig .....i tell you that! he got me. i will drop him an offer

I think it is a actually a type of favia, I remember seeing a piece like this two years ago and we thought it was a maxima, but ended up being favia v...

Doesnt look like Acanthastrea to me; and the fact that it supposedly came from Japan rules out A. maxima automatically.

I dunno, Id pay $10 for a head or so just for something different in the tank.
