blue LED computer fans
what does everyone think about using these fans to serve two purposes. being a fan in the top of your canopy/hood and also being moon lights. assuming that the LED's are the correct wavelength.

hmmm.... I don't think the wavelength will have that much to do with it... I have blue PC casefans in my puter right now, I think you are a genius for this idea!!! :P really though, I think that just might work... let others chime in to see what they think...

I did this with my first canopy. It was cool until they rusted out. I had them blowing the air out and it pulled too much moisture.

I did the same two years ago.. then I yanked out the fan and kept the lights - Now I just got done ordering a 12 inch cold cathode tube that runs in conjuntion with my refugium light. I now have a canopy with no fans or holes (open top)

I've got 4 of them on 2 nanos. (2 per tank). Don't feel like they put out enough light to be effective as moon lights. Some of that will have to do with how and where you mount them.
