turkey baster, use it to blow off the rocks and keep the brown algae off of the rocks, with micro algae growing it will compete with the brown algae for nutrients, but should win the battle, also do you still use the fluval canister filter? If you dont stay on top of maintenance it can become a nitrate factory. The only thing i think that would be my best advice would be to stay on top of the brown algae and do water changes with ro water, if not ro even better ro/di water

My cheato in the HOB fuge will not grow and cant figure out why?? Is the brown algae fighting for the nutrients with the cheato and taking over?? How do i reverse it so that the cheato grows more than the brown algae. Also what is that brown algae?????
