Yellow Wrasse (Large)
I was wondering if anyone else has a yellow wrasse this large, all I have seen are these 3 and 4 inch ones and mine is closer to 6. I have had him for about a year and has stayed pretty much the same size

Well, this guy looks more like a juvenile Thalassoma lutescens to me. Yellow wrasses dont have this orange stripes on the fins and they have a much brighter yellow color. In my opinion, this is definately a juvenile T. lutescens aka banana wrasse.

As I have had this guy so long is it possible he is some type of hybrid? I got a measurement on him at 7" is a bit below the 12" that Lutescens is supposed to obtain.
I have him out of my main tank presently as he was just getting to hyper for the other guys and I was looking to place him in a new larger home.

I dont think that its a hybrid. However, it might be related with the sex of the fish.
