Question Mangroves lost leaves.

I have acquired two mangroves that had already sprouted, one had one leave and one didn’t. They were broken off the trunk. The one with a leaf lost it, now it’s bare also. The trunks look dried out and shriveled. The pod is still green. There are roots on the pods. What I want to find out from someone that has experience with mangroves is what if anything I should do to save these trees.

I’m keeping them in a refugium light with two 27 watt power compact florescent spot light fixtures, it has 1200 gph flowing through it with a 3" mud substrate. The water level is about 8" deep in the sump. Water temp is around 79 degrees.

Any help will be appreciated.
