I have a question for all those using or thinking of using the RO water from machines. Do you still drink at public water fountains?
Just bite the bullit and get an RO filter system for the home. Your tea will taste better too. "And all the fish, that lay in dirty water, dying. Have they got you hypnotized?" Answer---"HuH? I wasn't paying attention." |

I have more faith in my own immune system than I do in public filtration. I've been drinking tap water my whole life and it hasn't killed me yet.

I did not say tap water! I said public drinking fountain!
I very much doubt the great, all powerful immune system that you have could be compared to a tender, vulnerable marine creature. Aside that, have you had your heavy metals today? Have you drank from a milk carton that was found opened in the market today? Good luck my courageous friend! |

Wow! Touchy aren't we. I guess a little sarcasm is too much to handle.
Last I checked a public drinking fountain was attached to the same water supply as the tap, so by my definition that makes the water from public drinking fountains tap water and yes I still use them. I drank milk straight from a cow once and didn't die from that either. You may be right about the heavy metals though, something has made me crazy enough to respond to this. If you're paranoid about the public RO systems at the grocery store take your TDS meter with you and test it. If you don't like what you see, don't buy it. Now riddle me this Batman: excluding a bad or poor quality membrane, what is the difference between running water from a grocery store's water main into an RO machine, charging $0.35 a gallon and running it out of my water pipe that comes from the same main into an RO filter at my house except for the fact that I don't have to pay to use the machine? The machine may not be of the greatest quality but what does that have to do with the water supply? I've used it in a pinch and it was fine. My "vulnerable marine creatures" are perfectly healthy. So thank you for being concerned, my neurotic friend. "I love it when people say they won't drink the water. Its a sign of the system breaking down." -George Carlin
