should I dip my frogspawn?

I recently had a heater failure and pH drop that sent my tank into a downward spiral, especially the frogspawn. Some of the polyps have partially separated from the skeleton and others are at various stages of melting.

I don't see any brown jelly, but the polyps gradually turn into goo and slough off.

Borneman advises freshwater dips and cautions against iodine. Others report success with iodine dips. I was thinking of a combo freshwater and weak iodine dip. which dip kills what?

Remove the affected coral from tank and place in a container of tank water, manually remove the as much of the "goo" as possible with a soft brush,fingers,etc..After that, dip in freshwater for several minutes while shaking to try and remove the rest of the deasd tissue.Antibiotic pastes/iodine dips can be used for a followup treatment. The coral should be placed in a hospital tank with low lights and moderate current while healing.Depending on how far the infection has gone will ultimately decide if the coral will survive, good luck.
