What is true ID?

Thought I'd post here too since more traffic. Got 2 of these years ago as hitchhikers and was told they were "Florida Mushrooms" Was wondering what the true name was. They are a little closed up as my Flame Hawk kept trying to get in the shot and disrupted them. The one at bottom is open. I Love these. They reproduce and eat about anything that gets in them. Have about 40 now between two tanks. Was told they were illigal to harvest anymore? Thanks for looking.

I think your talking about the taller corals? Those are some sort of palythoa IMO.

That's a palythoa of some sort for sure, someone else may have a better exact species ID. I'd bet money that it's a palythoa though

. Pretty cool coral, they look HUGE for a paly. Kind of remind me of the giant paly's sold on LA once and a while? Cinnamon paly's they call them I think?

Any special distinction or name. Was told these, this type, couldn't be bought or sold anymore. Wondering what this type is?

Those are palythoa AKA button coral etc. The ones you might be thinking of that are protected are Florida ricordia. And Florida ricordia can be bought and sold and I believe collected with some regulation as to the size of the rock (something like the size of a quarter max or maybe no substrate attached). Palythoa though are common and easy to propagate.
