smashing type mantis' don't eat fish. They'd decimate the snail and shrimp populations LONG before starving to the point of catching a fish, unless it was sleeping in a crevice.

the 65 thing was just my little blurb! I want a 220 in wall, for an achillies someday.

if its still alive, it will hopefully be fine. If you do not see it, do not try to find it. it may be hiding. just LEAVE it alone

yes, they do. I want one but they don't come in on live rock, as they live in sediments and mud flats, and sandbeds.. NOT live rock, they can't bash holes into the rock.

So I've decided to go with the Peacock Mantis. After all that I've read I think this is my best bet at this point. I love the idea of an Octopus but I'm afraid I just don't know enough about them and fear I'd kill it or vice versa. I appreciate all the help. My Brittle is finding a new home and I will get as may of the snails and hermits to my sump area. They should be more than happy there for a while. My blennie will go to my display tank as I hope he will be ok with the other blennie, heard the sailfins and lawnmowers are territorial? Anyhow, I hope to see the Peacock catch whatever is in the TANK OF DEATH! If I am so lucky, the camera will be ready.

This reminds me of an old episode of the Simpsons..

"oh awesome, those lizards are killing off the nasty pigeon population"

"what will you do when the lizards are out of control?"

"lizard eating snakes"

"umm...what about after that?"

"Snake flesh eating gorillas!"

"Isn't that even worse?"

"Thats the beauty of it all, come winter the gorillas will freeze to death!"

Was hoping bait trap would work. Planning on getting large one. I am ordering through local so I can pick out and make sure is peacock and large enough. Hope that he doesn't find where other thing is and decide to stay too! Yeah, Yeah, Simpsons I get it. We'll see, may go the octopus route after-ha ha. I've got the patience at this point. Most would have torn tank down by now or at least swapped out. Is it patience or stubbornness? Husband would say stubbornness! Thanks again!!!!!
